Dear Comrade,
You might have heard that the Hon’ble Supreme Court has given judgment in case of demand
for grant of four advance increment to Auditors and Accountants on passing of Departmental Confirmatory
Test which was stopped by replacing qualification pay as recommended by the third Central Pay Commission.
This order will give benefit to those who were receiving Qualification pay between 1973 and 1981.
The judgment down loaded from Supreme Court website is appended below for information.
The case was filed by about ten comrades belonging to Southern Railway Audit affiliated to
National Audit Federation. We congratulate the comrades for their effort that has succeeded in getting
financial benefit that many of our friends would get after a long dry period. Last time we got some
financial benefit through our struggle during NDA Government through Shri Jaswant Singh, Finance Minister.
We are thankful to Mr. Anil Nauriya, Advocate and Ms. Sumita Hazarika, Advocate who took the
case on behalf of our comrades. Full length judgment copy will be circulated within a day or so on
receipt of the certified copy.
With Greetings,
Sd/-(A. B. Sen)

UPON hearing counsel the Court made the following
O R D E R
On hearing Mr.Malhotra, we find no infirmity in
the view taken by the Madras Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal,
which simply followed an earlier decision of the Calcutta Bench of the Tribunal,
which Was affirmed by the dismissal of special leave petition No.12443 of 1990 by this Court.
We see no reason to interfere in this matter. The special leave petition is dismissed.
